Eeklo is a small town located to the North-West of Flanders, in Meetejesland. It is situated on the diversion canal of the Lys and it possesses typical, neo-gothic architecture from the second half of the 19th century.
Eeklo has become a city where it is nice to live and lots of people like to relax there.
This is the ideal starting point for a tour of the region, either in the creeks, in the north of the city, either on the nearby coast or to visit the historical cities Ghent, Bruges and Antwerp.

To taste: The cramique (brioche), spéculoos, waterzooï (speciality containing chicken).

To know: A legend says that one could come to Eeklo in order to redo "the head" if you did not like your character or your body.

Most Important: The natural reserve of Het leen with its 200 ha of wood and ponds.
